My background

I have worked in a variety of settings, including community behavioral health, hospital rehabilitation, a university counseling center, military treatment facilities, and independent practice. I have specialized training in helping individuals to cope with chronic medical illness, including functional disorders such as fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome. I have extensive experience working with service members, veterans, and their families.

I received my PhD in Clinical Psychology from Drexel University in 2004. I completed an internship with specialization in Behavioral Medicine from Rutgers University-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.

 
 

Therapy models

I have training and experience in several evidence-based treatments that have a lot of research supporting their effectiveness:

  • Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

  • Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT)

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

  • Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

My style of therapy

My style is supportive, collaborative, and compassionate. It is my belief that YOU are the expert on YOU. But, you may be coming to therapy because you need some guidance and direction…some help to get unstuck. We will work together to help you find the best approach to living your best life. I work from models that are more present-focused and shorter-term (typically 12-16 sessions). However, sometimes we need to take a look at the past to understand the present. I make sure to tailor the therapy to your individual needs. There is no one size fits all therapy.
